Lynch’s homer ignites Storm

By Times-Journal Staff ALVINSTON, Ont. -- Kevin Lynch hit a three-run homer as the St. Thomas Storm beat Alvinston Indians 5-1 in the St. Thomas District Fastball League Thursday. The Indians led 1-0 before the Storm scored all five runs in the second inning. St. Thomas pitcher Ryan Cummings worked a complete-game three-hitter with six strikeouts. The Storm visit at Belmont tonight at 8 p.m.

The site is almost back to normal. Poll works again, Stats, Standings and Roster all updated and work. One problem left is updating the news. Once I find the Storm IT nerd it will be going again.

Storm blanks Glencoe Ryan Cummings tossed a one-hit shutout

By Times-Journal Staff GLENCOE, Ont. -- Ryan Cummings tossed a one-hit shutout with 14 strikeouts as the St. Thomas Storm blanked Glencoe Astros 3-0 for their 14th win in a row in the St. Thomas District Fastball League Thursday. Brian Harvey delivered the game winning RBI in the fourth inning scoring Jamie Peat after he had doubled. Tyler Lessard drove in another run with a double in the sixth. St. Thomas leads the league at 18-4 with eight games remaining remaining on the schedule. The Storm host the league all-star game Tuesday in Fingal. St. Thomas, the reigning champions, will play an all-star team composed of players from the other six teams in a nine-inning affair. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
