By Times-Journal Staff FINGAL -- A walk-off three-run homer by Jamie Peat gave the St. Thomas Storm a 7-4 win in eight innings over Morpeth Magic in the St. Thomas District Fastball League Tuesday. Tied 1-1 after seven regulation innings, Morpeth took a 4-1 lead in the top of the eighth inning on a three-run homer by John Pickering. He also produced the Magic’s first run on a fourth-inning solo shot. St. Thomas stole the magic with six runs in the home half of the extra inning. Pitcher Brent Crocker won his first game for the Storm with a complete game four-hitter. Ben Blonde suffered the loss.

Alvinston 6 Glencoe 1 Season record 10-4
Alvinston scored early, en route to a 6-1 victory. Brad Young was the winning pitcher for Alvinston going the distance in the game, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Dan Demers opened the scoring for the Indians as he singled, advanced to second on a sac bunt by Scott Smith, and scored on an RBI single by Joe Triest. In the third inning, Alvinston struck again, when Ryan Chapman lead off the inning with a solo bomb, followed by a triple by Dan Demers, who scored on an RBI groundout by Joe Triest. In the fourth inning, with one out, Shawn Fenton and Darryl Smith both singled, and Fenton scored on an RBI single by Scott McAuley. Alvinstn added their final two runs in the sixth to go up 6-0, when Brad Young and Darryl Smith singled, and both scored on RBI singles by McAuley and Chapman respectively. Glencoe counted one run in the bottom of the seventh, when Rowan Lam hit a solo home run to get Glencoe on the scoreboard. Final Score was Alvinston 6, Glencoe 1.

By Times-Journal FINGAL -- Two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning lifted the St. Thomas Storm to a 5-4 win over Blenheim Home Run Restaurant for a sweep of a doubleheader in the St. Thomas District Fastball League here Sunday. The Storm led 3-0 after one but trailed going into both the seventh and eighth innings. Nathan Johnson sent the game in an extra inning hitting a home run to tie the game at four in the seventh. Blenheim took a 4-3 lead in the top of the eighth. Chris Payne had three RBIs for the Storm and Mark Coleman had a pair of doubles and one single. St. Thomas pitcher Dan Beecroft went the distance scattering eight hits while striking out 11 batters. Paul Ceppi suffered the loss allowing five runs on eight hits. In Game 1, St. Thomas made three singles, one walk, a hit batsman and a squeeze play to produce four runs in the fourth inning on way to a 5-1 win. Pitcher Ryan Cummings tossed a complete game, allowing a run on five hits and striking out five. Gregg Guy took the loss, despite tossing a five hitter with 10 strikeouts. Kevin Lynch had two St. Thomas hits and two RBIs.
