Glencoe won last night in the 6th inning.. don't know the exact score but they won by a run.. Dox threw for Morpeth and held them off all game till the ump gave Metron a gift, calling a piper a ball on full count.. next batter homered and that was it.. Winship threw for Glencoe, he pitched well,

INDIANS LOSE TIGHT BATTLE
Last night, the Indians played host to Blenheim in game #7 of the young season, in St. Thomas and District Fastball League action. It was definitely a pitcher's duo, as Greg Guy for Blenheim, and Doug Charlton and Derwyn Hodgins for Alvinston stifled the opposition's batters. In the end however, it was Guy who earned the victory, as his Blenheim squad defeated Alvinston 2-1 on home turf. Blenheim scored both of their runs in the first inning, scoring two runs on three hits, while Alvinston replied with their only run in the sixth inning when Darryl Smith scored on an RBI double by Jeff Huston into the gap. After the first inning, Alvinston pitching combined to allow 1 hit, while striking out 9. Doug Charlton was the hard luck loser for the Indians, tossing 5 innings and fanning 5 batters, while Derwyn Hodgins was perfect in relief, srtiking out 4 of the 6 batters he faced. The Indians travel to St. Clements this weekend for their first tournament of the young season.
