I have some very sad and unfortunate news to pass on.
Chris Payne's mother, Evelyn passed away earlier today after a brief battle with cancer.
Mr. and Mrs. Payne were avid supporters of Payner's teams over the years. Though, not able to get to the ball park as often since they were involved in a horrific accident in 2005, John and Evelyn still supported the team at various events and fundraisers.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral arrangements will be published in the Toronto Star on Thursday or Friday.
