Shedden tops Morpeth
By Times-Journal Staff SHEDDEN -- Mike Unwin went two-for-three with one RBI as the Shedden Mission improved to 2–0 with a 4-1 victory Sunday over Morpeth Magic. Mike Joseph got the win in relief. He pitched four innings, allowing no runs on three hits and no walks, while striking out seven batters. Joe Caponcini started for Shedden, lasting three innings, allowing one run on two hits and a walk. Unwin led the Shedden offence with an RBI double in the first inning and a triple and run scored in the third on an RBI sacrifice fly by Gary Cook. Jeff Wilcox and Calvin Millar also drove in runs for Shedden. Morpeth’s Warren Voth took the loss, giving up one run on seven hits and five walks while striking out four batters. Shedden hosts Blenheim Home Run Restaurant tonight. Game time is 8 p.m.

Belmlont at Alvinston's mercy
By Times-Journal Staff BELMONT -- Brad Young tossed a three-hitter and struck out 11 batters to carry the Alvinston Indians to a 7-0 mercy in five innings of Belmont Black Sox in the St. Thomas and District Fastball League on Sunday. Darryl Smith had three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored. Scott Smith and Marc Greenwood each had multi-hit games with one RBI. Derwyn Hodgins and Young also chipped in each with one RBI.

Last nites score between belmont and glencoe was 5-4 belmont in comeback effort. Belmont short on players with a scrappy 11 managed to comeback from a 4-1 deficit to score 3 runs in the sixth and one in the seventh to pull out their first win of the year. Jesse Brown lead the way with his first homer in five years and a couple of other hits. Mark McCallum had a couple hits. Craig Walker thru very well but with defensive lapses found himself down 4-1. They made the score 4-3 in the sixth when Todd Winkworth came in and held the fort for the win.
