Ewart - John Michael of St. Thomas on Sunday, October 29, 2006, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 53rd year. Dearly loved partner of Joanne Gatecliffe and loved father of Michael and his wife Cheryl of St. Thomas, Jamie and his wife Kerri of Mississauga, Jonathan and Adam, both of St. Thomas. Dear son of Donna Ewart of St. Thomas and the late John Ewart (1998). Loved grandfather of Mikaela and Raine. Dear brother of Joanne and her husband Dan Gordon of St. Thomas and uncle of Melissa and her husband Mike Gaylard and Chris Gordon. John was born in St. Thomas on May 26, 1954. He worked for Mortgage Alliance. John was a graduate of A.V.S.S. and was active in sports. He umpired many years in St. Thomas and was a member of the Umpires Association. He was also a member of the Elgin Labour Centre and formerly of the Centennial Sports Club. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
