INDIANS SEASON EXTENDED
The Alvinston Indians extended their season to one more game in an attempt to advance to the finals in the St. Thomas and District Fastball League. But it was far from easy. The Indians squared off against Blenheim last night on home turf in game 4 of the series, and spotted the visitors a 4 run lead in the first inning. Facing elimination, this is not the start to the game they were looking for. The Indians however clawed back with one run of their own in the bottom of the first when Mike Black scored on an RBI single by Shawn Fenton. They did leave the bases loaded, but managed to narrow the lead to 4-1. A bottom of the third inning walk to Joe Triest, and a double by Shawn Fenton put runners on second and third for Alvinston. Triest scored on a pass ball with Demers at the plate, and then Demers scored Fenton when Demers reached on an error. The Indians again cut the Blenheim lead to 4-3. Brad Young shut the door for Alvinston on the mound after the first inning, keeping the Blenheim swingers off balanced, while most importantly keeping them off the scoreboard as well. The Indians failed to produce much offense in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, and it was up to a seventh inning come from behind at bat if the Indians wanted to capture the victory, and extend their season and the series to the brink. Joe Triest sparked the Indians in the seventh when he singled, and then advanced to second on a throwing error. Shawn Fenton then reached base on a fielder's choice and with runners on first and second the Indians were threatening. However, two quick outs put the Indians at 2 out, with Scott Smith at the plate looking to be the hero, and that he was, as Smith singled through the right side, scoring Triest from second to tie the game, and then a throw home to get Fenton went in the stands and the Indians came from behind for the 5-4 victory. Definitely an incredible but fortunate comeback to extend their season. Game five goes Sunday at 2:00pm in Alvinston. The winner will advance to the St.Thomas and District Fastball League Playoff finals.

does alvinston really win or does blenheim give it away? game 1 alvinston gets schooled by guy, 14 k's . game 2 umpire errors !!!! gives them a chance that they need because they were at school again. game three drive to alvinston for nothing, is there a penalty? chico work those knee pads. no decision, no balls from the executive. game three #2 blenheim smacks the shit out of all alvinston pitching, sub par at best any game so far. game four why don't we move the mound to 50 ft, lets play with dream seam balls so blenheim can't hit the ball out of the park off alvinstons weak pitching. to give alvinston a chance, blenheim makes 5 errors so they can feel good about a pathetic performance so far. game 5 kindergarden class is in again alvinston looks baffeled until the 7th where guy must run out of gas. how many games will he pitch in a row anyway? good job alvinston probably three games and you are out anyway, better look for a miracle or at least poor umpiring to get you through this one.

ALVINSTON INDIANS WALK OFF
On today's beautiful Sunday afternoon in Alvinston, about 150 to 200 fans packed the bleachers in Alvinston for game 5 of the Blenheim-Alvinston St.Thomas and District Fastball League Playoff semi-final series. A game 5 was made possible in the series, when on home turf on Thursday evening, the Indians rallied from a 4-0 deficit, finally coming back to defeat Blenheim 5-4 in the final inning. On Sunday, they were hoping to do it in a less dramatic style, but it would prove to be a nail biter yet again. The Alvinston Indians finally did what they hadn't done so far in the series, that being scoring the first run of the game to take an early lead. A single by Shawn Fenton, and then a 1 out sac bunt by Scott Smith, followed by a two out RBI single by Ryan Chapman opened the scoring for Alvinston, and gave them a 1-0 lead. But soon after, the pesky Blenheim squad clawed back counting 2 runs of their own for a 2-1 lead, as they chased Alvinston starter Derwyn Hodgins from the game. Doug Charlton came in in relief and was able to keep the Blenheim offence neutralized, while giving Alvinston the opportunity to tie the game. This however did not happen, as the Indians put runners on in the 3rd,4th,5th and 6th innings, but could not cash any runs. Off to the seventh inning, the Indians hoped to go out and get three more outs, and be forced to score 1 run to tie the game in their final at bat. Things however did not go their way, as Blenheim managed to throw Alvinston back on their heels even more, scoring 3 runs and mounting a 5-1 lead. Charlton was chased from the game, and Brad Young came in for the final out. Going into the bottom of the seventh, the Alvinston Indians had to perform a miracle, if they were going to extend their season further. 2 four run comebacks in 2 straight games was certainly imposssible, but the Indians decided that they would give it one last kick at the can, and see what happened. With already one out in the inning, the Indians leadoff hitter Mike Black got things rolling with a single. The next batter was Dan Demers, and he quickly deposited the first pitch he saw over the fence in deep centre field, narrowing the Blenheim lead to 5-3. Now the Indians would need some more base runners to start another rally, which is just what they received. Joe Triest smacked a single thru the left side and advanced to second on a pass ball, and Shawn Fenton followed with an infield single. With the tying run on first base, a single by Darryl Smith would score the get close run, and give the Indians a chance to tie the game. What happened however, defied what many considered the impossible. With Triest on third and Fenton on first, Darryl Smith hammered a "no-doubter" 1-1 drop ball pitch way over the left field fence for a walk off three run home run, to seal the series for the Indians in dramatic fashion, by the final score of 6-5. In the end, Brad Young got the win on the mound for Alvinston. The Indians rebounded from a 7-2 pasting in game three by Blenheim to win games 4 and 5 in comeback fashion on home turf. It was defintiely a great series and Blenheim should be commended for their play in the series as well. The Indians will now face the winner of the St. Thomas and Shedden series, in the St. Thomas and District Fastball League Playoff Championship. In 72 games this season, the Alvinston Indians have sported a 48 win and 24 loss campaign in 2006, with a best 3 out of 5 final series which remains. Game times for the championship finals will be decided at a later date.

Sounds like Sour Grapes to me You lost thats it Maybe if ya were not so busy whinning to the Umps or about them ya could have won the series ,the Young guys on that Blenheim team should take a lesson from some of the vets on the team who just go play the game and Shut the Fuck up. Your team has won Nothing and for you to Bash Alvinston is A Very Classless act they have been 1 of the Classiest teams as well as successful teams in the League for A long time .
Maybe you should watch the way they Handle winning and Losing ,With Class Always . Blenheim Is a very good young team that if they learn To Just play the game could be A force For A long time . Just shut the Fuck up and Play ball .

To the poster above without a real name! You stated that the executive has no balls! If you would like to talk to me face to face, I am always available. I have never hid nor will I from anyone or any decision that I or the league executive have had to make. Please contact me and I will explain to you how some of these decisions are made. If you have such big balls you would do this instead of hiding behind a keyboard and taking shots at teams and individuals who are trying to make this league and the sport itself better. You may not agree with what goes on and that is fine, but don't be an idiot about it. Get the facts and ask questions. I have been in the middle of a few tough calls this season and I can tell you that it is a shitty situation to be in because no matter what happens someone or some team is going to be pissed and won't accept the outcome. The team reps know how the process works and if it isn't working the way everyone would like it to, then SPEAK UP at the meetings!!! Any person can run for the executive positions. All positions are open each year. We haven't had elections in years because no new blood is interested, but it seems that everyone has an opinion. Either volunteer to help or shut the hell up!! I wecome the opportunity to talk to whomeveer you are. Please contact me!!!
